The hybrid was obtained within a breeding program aimed at creating rootstocks using Khasi papeda as the female parent form. It is used for growing oranges and clementines to improve their productivity and adaptability.
Studies confirm the rootstock's ability to promote higher yields of grafted varieties while maintaining fruit quality. Selection was focused on ensuring resistance to adverse soil conditions and the citrus tristeza virus.
