Variety description

10 August 2026

The name Pink is used as a description for a range of regional pomelo varieties in Southeast Asian countries. The plant is an evergreen tree, reaching 5–15 meters in height in natural conditions, while growth is limited to 2.5–4 meters when grown in containers.

Pomelo fruits have a mass of 1–3 kg and a diameter of 10–30 cm. The thick rind is usually colored yellow or greenish-yellow. The flesh varies from light pink to a rich salmon shade; segments are large and easily separated. The taste of the fruits is most often sweet and less bitter than that of grapefruit.

The plants are heat-loving and require a temperature regime of 25–32°C, not tolerating frost. Fruits are primarily consumed fresh, used in salads and desserts, and the thick peel is used for making candied fruit.
