Variety description
10 August 2026
The variety is a seedling of the wild species Clematis courtoisii. The plant is a deciduous weak liana or subshrub with green stems 2–3 meters in height and ternate dark green leaves.
Flowers are flat, 10–12 cm in diameter, facing upward or outward. There are 5–6 sepals, which are white, sometimes with a pale green stripe on the outside or a purple tint at the base. A distinctive feature is the long dark purple stamens with dark anthers.
Flowering occurs in April–May on current-year shoots. The plant's frost resistance is estimated down to -5°C. Seed heads remain on the plant; the variety is suitable for growing on supports.
