Variety description

The plant forms a rounded mound 30–60 cm tall and 60–90 cm wide. The leaves are lanceolate, covered with soft hairs that give them a silvery hue. The flowers are 2.5–4 cm in diameter, white with a yellow center and are often complemented by pink stripes on the outside, emerging from pink buds.
Flowering occurs from late spring to summer or early autumn. The shrub is drought tolerant, prefers full sun and well-drained calcareous soils, while being sensitive to excess moisture in winter. Frost resistance is limited; the plant withstands temperatures down to -5...-9°C.
The variety is used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens, borders, alpine gardens, containers, and Mediterranean-style gardens.
