The plant is a trailing annual that forms a continuous carpet. The flowering period lasts from June to September. The flowers have a characteristic funnel shape and are colored blue with a white, and often yellow, center.

The morning glory prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils. The variety is considered low-maintenance. Descriptions of plant height in various sources range from 15–50 cm to 200–300 cm, although the significant height values may be erroneous for this species.
