The plant is an interspecific hybrid, classified as Cornus × haddenii or Cornus × kousa. The variety forms an upright, eventually spreading shrub or small tree, reaching about 6 meters in height at 10 years of age with a crown width of 3 meters.
Flowering occurs in May–June. Large bracts with a diameter of 12–15 cm change shade from salmon-pink or light white to a rich pink-red. The plant produces edible red fruits, resembling strawberries in shape, which remain on the branches until hard frosts occur.
Leaves are green, acquiring red, orange, and purple shades in the autumn period. The variety prefers sunny sites and fertile, moist, well-drained soils, showing the ability to tolerate waterlogging.
