The Rosco variety, also known as Kelsey's Gold, is a sport of the Kelseyi variety. It is a slow-growing shrub 60–100 cm in height with a similar crown width. The leaves have a reddish hue upon unfurling, are bright yellow or yellow-green in summer, and turn bronze, orange, or purple tones in autumn.
Young shoots are yellow-green with red tips, turning wine-red in winter. In late spring and early summer, the plant blooms with small inflorescences of cream-white flowers, followed by white fruits. The plant tolerates moist soils well, can grow in sun or partial shade, with the intensity of foliage coloration and brightness of the shoots depending on the amount of sunlight.
