The variety has cup-shaped flowers 4–5 cm in diameter, colored blue-violet with darker veins and a contrasting bright yellow pistil. The leaves are narrow, linear, and appear simultaneously with the flowers or immediately after them.

The plant reaches a height of 10–15 cm. It belongs to early-flowering varieties, with the flowering period occurring in February–April. It is characterized by resistance to typical spring weather conditions, including frosts.

The variety is intended for planting in rock gardens, on lawns, in borders, mixed borders, and containers. In registration documents, the variety is also mentioned under the synonym Little Soldier.
