Magenta F1 belongs to the cantaloupe type. The fruits have a round shape, covered with a net, and weigh about 1 kg. The rind varies from a grey-green to brownish hue at maturity with dark green furrows. The flesh has a deep salmon color and a sweet, mild taste.
The variety possesses high keeping quality, which simplifies product transportation. It is used primarily for early production in greenhouses. The hybrid has high resistance to Fusarium wilt (races 0–2) and intermediate resistance to powdery mildew and a number of other fungal pathogens.
