The Alexander F1 hybrid bred by Sunseeds is a gherkin with a determinate growth type and female flowering type. The fruits have a dark green color, white spines, and reach a length of about 13.6 cm. The plant possesses complex resistance to anthracnose, angular leaf spot, powdery mildew, scab, and cucumber mosaic virus.

Another variation of Alexander F1 is characterized as an early parthenocarpic hybrid with a maturity period of 35–40 days. It exhibits resistance to cucumber mosaic virus, scab (Cladosporium cucumerinum), and powdery mildew, as well as tolerance to downy mildew.

The heirloom variety Kaiser Alexander represents a separate variety not related to the F1 hybrids. Its distinctive feature is the presence of brownish skin on the fruits, which must be peeled before consumption.
