The Ela F1 hybrid is characterized by a ripening period of 45 to 55 days. The plant has strong growth and a female flowering type. The fruits are cylindrical or spindle-shaped, dark green in color, have a sparsely tuberculate surface with white spines, and a length of 8–11 cm.

The variety has resistance to cucumber mosaic virus, powdery mildew, and cladosporiosis, and also shows tolerance to downy mildew. The fruits are distinguished by firm flesh, good keeping quality, and are suitable for fresh consumption, pickling, and canning. The hybrid is also known by the synonym Desdemona F1.
