In scientific publications dedicated to cucumber breeding, the sample «Etap» is used as a parent form or as an object in trials for resistance to downy mildew.

In seed catalogs, under the name «Этап», a mid-early bee-pollinated cucumber of the female flowering type is presented, with a growing season of 100–110 days.
