The Expedition hybrid from the Seminis company is intended for industrial use and pickling. The gynoecious flowering type plant produces short dark green block-type fruits with a length-to-diameter ratio of 3.1–3.2. The variety is adapted to mechanical harvesting, possesses high resistance to angular leaf spot, scab, and cucumber mosaic virus, as well as intermediate resistance to powdery mildew and anthracnose.

The Russian hybrid "Экспедиция" F1 is an indeterminate, highly branching plant with a female type of flowering, intended for winter-spring turnover in film greenhouses. It forms two ovaries per node. The salad-type fruits have a length of 17–23 cm, a mass of 170–280 g, and are tuberculate with white spines. The hybrid is characterized by resistance to olive leaf spot and cucumber mosaic virus.
