The Fertila hybrid belongs to the group of English long-fruited cucumbers intended for cultivation in protected ground. This plant is characterized by parthenocarpy, i.e., the ability to form fruits without insect pollination, and a gynoecious flowering type with a predominance of female flowers.
Fruits of this variety are classified as the long type, to which standard size restrictions applied to ordinary varieties do not apply. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to cucumber scab and is used in scientific research as a model object for breeding work on the induction of male flowers using chemical reagents.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
