Variety description

10 August 2026

The Kessem variety was developed within the framework of an Israeli breeding program for cultivation in protected ground. Its development was aimed at obtaining plants superior to traditional field varieties in terms of yield per unit of water used.

During the creation of the variety, breeders used genetic material from English and Dutch long-fruited cucumbers. The variety is officially included in agricultural crop catalogs as a hybrid intended for greenhouse cultivation.
