The Pūres 70 hybrid was developed in Latvia by specialists at the Pūre Horticultural Research Station. It is an example of targeted breeding intended for cultivation in plastic greenhouses.

The variety is classified as an F1 hybrid. Agrotechnical recommendations for this hybrid indicated the use of pinching the apex during the seedling stage. Precise data on morphological fruit characteristics, maturity group, and disease resistance are absent in the publications.
