The variety is presented in two versions, including the improved form 'Starozagorski langi-improved'. Fruits of this variety have black spines.

In scientific research concerning plant protection in greenhouses, the variety served as a subject of comparison when studying the pest Liriomyza huidobrensis. Experiments showed high attractiveness of the plants of this variety to this pest compared to other tested samples.
