The plant is trailing. The fruits have a cylindrical or oval shape, slightly flattened at the edges, and their weight ranges from 8 to 15 kg. The skin is dark green with light stripes, showing yellowish or orange shades upon ripening. The flesh is cream or yellowish-white in color and fibrous.

The variety is mid-season, with a ripening period of 90–100 days. The fruits are characterized by good keeping quality and can be stored for up to 5 months. Historically, the variety was grown as a forage crop; it is currently valued for its large oil-bearing seeds and decorative appearance, with culinary use of the flesh limited to soups and purees.
