The plant forms a compact bush 45 to 100 cm in height with dense foliage, which provides protection for the fruits from direct sunlight. The variety is adapted to open field conditions and is noted for its good tolerance of arid conditions.

The cylindrical fruits have a light green color with characteristic gray speckles or a fine net pattern. Fruits 15–20 cm in length are considered optimal for harvest when young, although they can grow to 20–30 cm. The fruit flesh is tender, with a sweetish taste, suitable for various culinary preparation methods, including stuffing larger-sized fruits.

The variety is a traditional heirloom of Algerian horticulture and is widely used in both home and professional vegetable growing. Not only the fruits are edible, but also the flowers of the plant.
