The variety is a pumpkin intended for the production of seeds (pepitas) that do not have a hard shell and are ready for consumption immediately after extraction. The flesh of the fruits is considered unsuitable for cooking due to its fibrous, spongy structure and mediocre taste.

The plant is vining and possesses vigorous growth. The ripening period is 95–110 days. The fruits have a round or oval-flattened shape and yellow-orange coloration with dark green stripes or spots. Fruit weight varies from 1.5 to 8 kg.

The variety possesses intermediate resistance to powdery mildew. Both varietal forms and hybrids are found on the market, which may lead to minor differences in characteristics depending on the producer.
