Tempest F1 variety is an early-maturing hybrid with a growing period of about 54 days. The plant forms a compact, open-type bush with soft spines on the stems. The presence of the precocious yellowing gene may give the leaves a yellow tint, which is a varietal characteristic and not a disease.

The fruits have a curved shape, longitudinal ribs, and light stripes; their size varies from 10 to 18 cm. The flesh is dense, less watery than other summer varieties, and holds its shape well during cooking. The variety is versatile in use and suitable for various types of culinary processing.
