The plant is an intergeneric hybrid created by crossing a small-fruited local form of quince with pollen from the apple cultivars Antonovka, Snow Calville, and McIntosh. It is used for grafting apple, pear, quince, Japanese quince, hawthorn, and mountain ash.
Propagated by vertical and horizontal layering. Morphologically characterized by a complete absence of lateral branching, which is an advantage for its use as a rootstock. The height of vertical layers is 121–136 cm, and horizontal layers is 106–116 cm. Distinguished by high plasticity.
