The Karlatop variety is a hybrid plant. According to a classification conducted during scientific research in the 1990s at the Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops, it belongs to the group of late-maturing varieties.

Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and root are not presented in open sources. Within the framework of scientific activity, the variety was used for a comparative analysis of nitrate content levels in carrots under various growing conditions and harvest dates.
