The variety belongs to the group of standard single-headed carnations and is known under the trade name Nobbio Burgundy. The flower is double, colored in a deep red with a narrow pale pink border along the edges of the petals, which have moderate serration.
The plant requires cultivation in protected ground and tolerates low temperatures poorly. The variety is used as a reference standard for international tests for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.
