The plant has a cushion-like form with narrow linear leaves of a glaucous-blue or gray-green shade. The flowers are dark red, semi-double, and are located on sturdy peduncles above the foliage.
Flowering continues from late spring to early autumn, with possible repeat flowering if spent blooms are removed. The variety is winter hardy (USDA zones 4–9), drought tolerant, resistant to high temperatures, salts, and major leaf and root diseases, and does not lodge.
Used in landscape design for borders, rock gardens, and container cultivation. In mild climates, it retains foliage in winter, becoming semi-evergreen.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
