The garden Dianthus Beauties® Kahori is a perennial plant forming dense cushions of dark green foliage 20–30 cm tall. The bright pink or fuchsia-pink flowers often feature a white center. The plant is characterized by high growth vigor, abundant flowering from late spring to autumn, and the ability to withstand frosts down to -15 °C.
The single-head Dianthus (Dianthus caryophyllus), sold under the trade name Kaori for floristry, is characterized by sturdy stems and large double flowers with a diameter of 7.5–8 cm. The petals often have a serrated edge, and the foliage has a gray-green hue. The characteristics of this group may vary depending on the supplier.
