The Novada variety is a breeding and laboratory object used in scientific research on plant disease resistance. It is not a commercial general-purpose variety; therefore, data on its agronomic characteristics, such as height or yield indicators, are not available in open sources.
A key feature of the variety is its high resistance to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi. The resistance is due to the presence of specific flavonoids in the tissues of the stems and roots of the plant and the accumulation of phytoalexins that inhibit the development of the fungal pathogen.
