The Mini Tiara series varieties were obtained as a result of interspecific crossing of cultivated carnation species with wild members of the Dianthus genus, presumably involving Dianthus knappii. Breeding work in this direction began in 1994 in Japan at the Kagawa Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station.
Plants of this series have small flowers with pointed petals, which determines the visual recognizability of the group. Specific agronomic characteristics, including height indicators, disease resistance parameters, or quantitative data on cut flower quality, are not recorded in available sources.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
