The carnation variety Epomeo is known in scientific literature as an object for experiments dedicated to studying the influence of ethylene on petal senescence and the molecular biological aspects of plant development. Its characteristics are often considered in comparison with other varieties, such as White Sim and Chinera.

Agronomic reference books and publications lack information on the morphological traits of this variety, such as plant height, disease resistance, or parameters of commercial product quality. The variety does not belong to the modern commercial Nobbio carnation series, with which it is sometimes erroneously identified.
