Plants of the Balwinlapi variety, also known by the trade name Wink Lavender Pink, have an upright or semi-upright growth habit. The flower color is lavender-pink. A key feature of the variety used for identification is the absence of oil-producing glandular structures (elaiophores) on the lower lobe of the corolla.

The variety is intended for ornamental use in containers, hanging baskets, and for flower bed design. The plant has passed testing for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.
