The Diastara variety, marketed under the trademark Flying Colors Appleblossom, belongs to the species Diascia barberae. The plant has a spreading growth habit.

The flowers of the variety have a light pink shade. In breeding work, Diastara was used as a maternal line for the development of other diascia varieties, in particular the Diasupa variety.
