The Indiana variety tree is distinguished by medium vigor and bears fruit on thin shoots. The plant has high frost resistance, which allows it to be grown in climatic zones suitable for plum cultivation.

The fruits have an oblate shape and an average weight of 35.2–38.7 g, visually resembling Oriental persimmon. The dry matter content in the fruits is about 29.9%. The flesh may retain astringency until fully ripe.

The variety belongs to the early-maturing category. The fruits are suitable both for direct consumption and for industrial processing.
