The variety is a perennial herbaceous plant with a bushy aerial part and a taproot system consisting of 1–3 vertical gray-brown roots. Stems are 80–120 cm high and covered with coarse hairs. Leaves are linear-lanceolate in shape, with basal leaves provided with petioles.
Inflorescences are oval-conical in shape. Ray florets are pink-violet, reaching 5–8 cm in length; tubular florets are orange. The plant blooms in July-August, with full flowering beginning from the second year of life. The fruit is an achene.
The variety is mid-late; the vegetation period is 134–145 days. Yield of dry roots reaches 1.3–1.5 t/ha. Roots contain 6.1–6.4% polysaccharides, 0.5–0.6% phenylpropane derivatives, and 0.9–1.2 ml/100 g of essential oils, which allows for their use in medical applications.
