The plant is a compact subshrub with a diameter of about 80 cm. Vegetation begins in late March — early April. Flowering occurs in September and lasts 20–25 days; seeds ripen in October. The full vegetation cycle takes 190–200 days.
The upper part of the annual growth with inflorescences is used as raw material. The essential oil content is 0.32% of the raw weight, with rozfuran and rozfuranepoxide predominating in the composition. Raw material yield reaches 170 c/ha, essential oil yield — up to 54 kg/ha.
The crop is drought-tolerant and responds positively to fertilization and irrigation. It shows stable productivity regardless of weather conditions.
