The plant has an upright shrub habit and yellow needles, which contrast with the flower buds. The flower buds are bright pink or dark pink, and the flowers become white upon opening.
The variety possesses resistance to the endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis, which affects Ericaceae. The plant is suitable for cultivation in protected cultivation.
The species Erica lusitanica is thermophilic and sensitive to low temperatures, which must be considered when choosing growing conditions.
