The plant is a compact, low-growing shrub reaching a height of 0.3–0.6 m; with support, it is capable of climbing up to 2 meters. The shoots are trailing and capable of rooting upon contact with the soil. The variety is characterized by a medium growth rate.
The leaves are leathery, about 3 cm long, dark green with a bright yellow-white center, and may acquire pinkish-red shades in winter. The plant is resistant to diseases and pests, with frost resistance of up to -20...-30°C. It prefers well-drained soils.
