The Sima variety is officially registered as a variety of the species Festuca filiformis. In open sources, there is a lack of detailed information regarding its breeding, parental forms, and specific agronomic characteristics, such as height or disease resistance.

This variety is used in turf management for creating extensive-type swards that do not require intensive mowing. When identifying, it is important not to confuse the Sima variety with the Sigma variety, which belongs to another species — Festuca rubra.
