The variety is used in landscape design for forming shade-tolerant lawns and grass mixtures. It possesses a fine leaf texture and the ability to form dense sods, maintaining viability for a long period of time.

The name Liget is also applied to designate commercial grass mixtures containing components of Festuca rubra and Festuca heterophylla. In professional application, clarification of the composition is required: whether the product is a pure variety or a mixture.

The species characteristics of the plant imply a perennial development cycle and a stem height in the range of 30 to 150 cm. The crop prefers moderate growing conditions and effectively adapts to shading conditions.
