The plant develops as a large shrub or small tree. The species is heat-loving, sensitive to negative temperatures, and prefers moist conditions and well-drained soils.
In the expert community, there are discussions regarding the species classification of the variety; some researchers suggest that it may belong to the species Ficus vasta, despite its official registration as Ficus auriculata.
