The Dunlap variety, also known as Senator Dunlap, is a representative of the short-day variety group with a fruiting period in mid-June. The plants possess vigorous growth, reach a height of 15–30 cm, and demonstrate high resistance to climatic stresses, including frost and drought.
The fruits are medium to large in size and have a dark crimson color. The berry flesh is soft, and the taste is characterized as sweet with a slight tartness. The variety shows good overall disease resistance, however, due to the soft consistency of the fruits, it does not tolerate long-distance transportation well.
