The variety was introduced in New York in 1965–1966 and included in the USDA genetic resources inventories under the number CFRA 147.
In the 1970s, the variety was used in comparative trials in the state of Tennessee; however, specific morphological traits and yield indicators were not detailed for it. It was initially intended for breeding programs and amateur gardening.
