The Honeoye variety was obtained in 1979 as a result of crossing the Vibrant and Holiday varieties. Plants of this variety are distinguished by a vigoroushabit, a spreading form, and a well-developed root system.
The berries have a conical shape, firm consistency, and shiny dark red skin. The taste of the berries is sweet and sour; the variety possesses good transportability and keeping quality, and is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness and is often used in breeding research as an object for studying resistance to various pathogens and fungal diseases.
