The variety was obtained as a result of crossing breeding lines FL 87-418 and FL 87-200. The plant possesses upright leaf petioles and an early maturity group, ensuring high yield during the winter period when using a plastic mulch bed cultivation system.
The fruits of the variety possess good taste qualities and an attractive shape. The variety exhibits moderate disease resistance, in particular low susceptibility to fruit gray mold, however, under Florida conditions, susceptibility to phytoplasm infection was noted. Rosa Linda is frequently used in breeding as a parent component for new varieties.
