The variety, also known by the trade name «Lipstick», is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing garden strawberry and marsh cinquefoil. The plant is not intended for harvest and is valued in landscape design for its ornamental qualities.
The plant forms a cover 15–38 cm in height with bright green strawberry-type leaves. Flowering occurs in spring; the flowers have a pink-red hue. The variety is suitable for growing in containers or as a groundcover plant in conditions ranging from full sun to partial shade, and is characterized by resistance to diseases.
