The variety belongs to the short-day plant type. The fruits are characterized by a firm consistency, smooth glossy skin, and a shape ranging from medium to long-conical, with primary berries often having a ridged shape and a small neck.

In summer plantings, the variety demonstrated yields close to high-yielding varieties of that period, while in winter plantings, yield rates were about 80% of the level of the Tufts variety. The variety was used in genetic research for variety identification via isozyme electrophoresis.
