The freesia variety Polaris is mentioned in materials dedicated to the introduction of foreign varieties at the All-Russian Research Institute of Floriculture and Subtropical Crops. In studies dedicated to corm physiology, it is used as a comparator object in the study of storage processes and the influence of temperature on germination.
