The variety forms upright flower stalks, which may be arc-shaped in the upper part and require support when grown in windy areas. The plant's leaves are narrow, linear, sword-shaped, and gathered in a basal rosette.
The plant is quite hardy; in warm climates, it is cultivated as a perennial, in other regions — as an annual. In mild climates, it is capable of overwintering in the ground at temperatures down to -5°C with cover.
White River is in demand as a cut flower crop for wedding arrangements, as well as for cultivation in borders and containers. The variety is often used in scientific research as a reference sample of white freesia for studying the composition of aromatic compounds and flavonoids.
