The variety Mariola is used in laboratory research to develop protocols for plant regeneration from leaf petiole explants and callus tissues. Researchers note the high productivity of this variety during shoot regeneration from callus.

Under laboratory conditions, during the production of plants via indirect organogenesis, cases of morphological and physiological abnormalities were recorded, including the development of non-flowering dwarf forms. Commercial characteristics of the variety or data regarding its widespread use in commercial floriculture are absent.
