The Estelle variety possesses a functional allele of the DFR gene responsible for the normal synthesis of anthocyanin pigments. In scientific literature, this variety is often examined in comparison with the mutant form Ivory, in which pigment synthesis is blocked due to genetic defects, resulting in white petal coloration.
This variety is not a commercial hybrid for ornamental gardening or cut flowers. Agronomic parameters, such as plant height, flowering time, and disease resistance, are not described in available scientific publications, as the plant is used exclusively as a biological standard.
