The variety Shirlaine is an object of scientific research dedicated to the physiology of cut flowers and the extension of their vase life. It has been established that the stems of this variety possess a relatively low level of tissue lignification, amounting to about 4% in the middle section, which leads to deformation of the flower stalk.
Scientific studies show that the application of calcium chloride solutions contributes to an increase in calcium content in the apical part of the stem. This helps to maintain the upright position of the flower and can increase its vase life up to 24 days.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
